space-color-by-numbers and crayons

Can I be honest? Working every day to prepare activities for children can be exhausting. I don’t know what it is about prep work that is so tiring. Now and then I NEED a print-and-go activity for my daughter, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. With upcoming activities and prior engagements, today is the perfect day for our space color-by-numbers activity.

Color-by-numbers activities are wonderful, especially for preschool. I love practicing color and number recognition with these coloring pages.

Working on a color-by-numbers activity can be great for

  • Air travel
  • Road trips
  • A quick distraction while cooking dinner
  • A quiet time activity

Let me quickly explain for those who have not used a color-by-numbers page before. Each color is assigned a number. An image is divided into sections. Each section is given a number. Color each section with a given number, the color that number is assigned to.

I decided to create a few simple pages to see how they turned out and I LOVED doing them with Evie. These space color-by-numbers pages were the type of print-and-go activity that we needed for a busy day! The best part is that they are FREE!

If you want more space activities for your astronaut in training, check out my lesson plan based on one of our favorite space-themed books or our rocket-themed preschool activities!

I had so much fun creating these space color-by-numbers pages! I’m looking forward to creating more in the future. What do you think? Would you like to see more? Let me know in the comments!
